We all lust for the finer things in life. To some these include yachts, trips to Jamaica, lobster dinners, and diamonds galore, but to others they simply include a cozy home with family and a crackling fireplace. Which type of person are you? Hey, now days you can even make that an electric fireplace heater. Some folks are content with the contemporary, low maintenance solutions. I will be the first to admit that I love rustic ambience, and I can’t live without my wood-burning fireplace. However, that doesn’t mean that I simply oppose the alternatives. Who ever said that you can’t have both?

Recently I was checking into electric fireplace heaters and gas fireplaces. I wanted to determine how difficult it would be to turn my wood-burning fireplace into a gas one. My wife has been wanting to do this for the past couple of years. I completely oppose, and can’t see what difference it makes to her. I do all the wood-burning, chopping and cleaning up any way. Fortunately the way our fireplace is set up, it would be quite expensive to convert it into a gas fireplace. Fortunately for me anyway. As it turned out, my wife was just craving a fireplace that she could manage easily on her own. It was time for a electric fireplace heater. Have you seen how cool these are now days? I looked at the electric substitutes they have at Lowe’s and was rather impressed. Some are ideal for a bedroom or second family area. Or, if you do not have a fireplace at all; an electric fireplace heater would be perfect for any home. It’s more about aesthetics and ambience than anything else. Although some do radiate some generous heat.

Before you look into a gas fireplace installation, you should check out the simple and inexpensive alternative known as the electric fireplace heater. They truly do look like a real fireplace. Get one as large or small as you like. You plug them into the wall, and never worry about fire wood, matches, gas or cleaning. Pretty efficient if you ask me. Anyone can operate an electric fireplace heater, because all it takes is the flip of a switch. You’ll certainly appreciate it this winter.
